Consumers Taking 34 hours to convert, 180% increase
MarketingSherpa reports that consumers are takign 34 hours from the first click to conversion which is up from 19 hours at 2005.
Here are some of their recommendations.
1. Add “About Us” blurbs to every conceivable entry point
2. Grab emails early on — before the shopping cart
3. Content: give more product info than the competition does
4. Exclusive here-only bonuses

However, this is quite the opposite of what were taught by marketers. We were usually told to remove any possible ways to exit except for the close button, even that we were also told to put up a pop up message to tell double confirm with them if they want to close it. So whats your take?
